She has a lot of admirers, especially from the boys' side who are obsessed with fantasies of her dominating them as Student Council President. She has a calm, confident demeanor which is sometimes interpreted as cold and calculating, especially by Natsuru. She is a Red Kämpfer, which initially puts her at odds with him, and is also a Schwert-("sword-")type Kämpfer who prefers to fight wielding two short swords/daggers linked by a chain. Her weapons have the special property of extending its chain length to necessary lengths to enable her to fight even at long range. In her Kämpfer form, the reverse side of her long black hair partially turns white, which makes the color change only visible from the front, while leaving the her hair dark when seen from behind. She easily deduces Natsuru and Akane's Kämpfer identities after encountering them in the library and interrogating them. She has a personal objective of finding the reason why Kämpfer must fight each other, and to that end she initially fought the Blue Kämpfer to learn more.
After being defeated by Natsuru and Akane in a battle, she is spared by Natsuru in exchange for Shizuku not involving Kaede in future battles. She enters an informal truce with Natsuru and Akane while she gathers more information about the Kämpfer system and has since taken an increasing romantic interest in male Natsuru, slyly teasing him with her demands and advances, even going so far as to steal his first kiss all without losing her composure and demeanor, which makes Natsuru even more suspicious of her, despite her not harboring any actual hostile intentions toward him. Shizuku continues to give off hints to Natsuru that she is romantically interested in him, in spite of his extra denseness regarding her feelings, even asking him out on a real date and even passionately kissing him in front of Kaede and the others, although her ambiguous demeanor again seems to become her undoing (a fact she seems to have realized, calling her love an unrequited one), as Natsuru keeps thinking that she is up to something whenever she makes an advance on him.
She seeks to know why Kämpfer must fight because, as she told Natsuru, she resents being used as a pawn by the Moderators, and seeks her goal in the hope of fulfilling her ultimate objective of taking revenge against the organizers of the Kämpfer system, which cost her the life of a dear friend in the past, who was also a Red Kämpfer like her. In order to fight back against the system, and indirectly its organizers, she and her new Red Kämpfer ally Mikoto later enter into a formal truce and join forces with the Blue Kämpfer Natsuru and Akane, violating the rule that all Kämpfer must fight, antagonizing the Moderators in the process, who send the White Kämpfer to eliminate them for rebelling against the system. As a Kämpfer, the messenger assigned to Shizuku by the Moderators is Electrocuted Wildcat, a plush toy that is part of the Entrails Animals series of stuffed toys. When in the end Natsuru chooses Akane, she cries for him because her love was genuine.
Personality:
Shizuka is a complicated package, hidden away behind simpler seeming wrapping. On the surface she gives off an aura of calm, cool, collected and in-charge. There seems to be no situation she can't overtly or subtely control, and she's not afraid to flex a little muscle, intimidation or sex appeal to get the result she desires. Her school is divided into two sections, one for each gender, and the men's side has a fan club called the "Please Dominate and Abuse me Madam President Club". Compared to a more "normal" fan club for the schools other celebrated beauty, Sakura.
Underneath things aren't quite so simple. When surprised or caught off-guard, She can be easily rattled, that calm demeanour suddenly breaking under surprise or stress. When her best friend turns out to be a sinister agent for the same "Moderators" she's seeking to fight, the revelation rattles her enough to almost force her to flee the scene entirely. For the same reasons, although she has a mind for political manuevering and subtlety, she loathes flashoods, always seeking to get to the truth of a matter or through the facade being put forth by another person. The same revelation drives her to discover the truth behind the moderators, forcing her to delve deeper into issues that might better remain hidden to discover the truth. She's even willing to steal something from her best friend as evidence towards the truth she desires.
That same dislike of falseness manifests in a desire for open and honest communication with those whom she genuinely trusts; When with someone she cares for, or trusts, Shizuka is completely open and honest about her feelings and has no compulsion against overt displays of affection or protectiveness. She goes right after the male protagonist of the series when she starts to develop romantic feelings, stealing his first kiss right after he wakes up from unconciousness, and pushing him into more affectionate behavior when she takes him out on a date. When he protests later that it wasn't a date at all and there was no kiss, she french-kisses him on the spot to prove her affection is true and not meant to be hidden.
She prefers to be around people who are the same, that show their true colours and go for what they want no matter what, even going so far as to encourage them to achieve things that she herself might want. Despite knowing that the main character switches gender, she encourages Sakura to pursue his female self even though she's in love with his male half herself. This seems to come from both an innate sense of loyalty to those she cares for, and an strong independant streak. Her parents are both international businesspeople and spend a lot of time abroad, which has left Shizuka to care for the family home and finances, and in-turn, endowed her with said independant streak.
Fears:
Shizuka fears a loss of control. Even when pursuing a strong emotion like love, she pursues it on her terms and under her own set of rules. When she recieves the first inkling that the "Moderators" might be controlling her like a pawn on a chess board she immediately rebels, fighting back against them and investigating their involvement to free herself. "I will be no one's pawn" she is heard to say.
Weaknesses:
Shizuka's percieved emotional distance makes it difficult for those around her to take her emotions seriously. The calm and cool demeanour does little to help reinforce professed feelings of love or devotion. As a result she tends to be easily isolated from the people around her, both emotionally and even physically (like living at home by herself).

Shizuka is skilled in the use of swords and blades, particularly with her signature weapon; A pair of short swords connected by a chain that can stretch or shorten as needed.
She's also a natural athlete, able to run, swim and climb as though she were born to it.

Red Kampfers are "Three times faster" than a normal human, as mentioned in the anime. This gives Shizuka even greater athletic prowess and agility then she would normally possess. As well she can manipulate a magical pair of swords that are connected by chain, lengthening or shortening the chain as required.

These weapons can be summoned to her at will when she assumes her "Kampfer Form" which looks like her regular self, but with glowing violet hair on the innermost layers (ie from behind she looks no different. She also wears a red metal bracelet that cannot be removed and allows her to change into her Kampfer form and summon her swords. Otherwise she has her school uniform and her cellular phone. She also has a purse containing some Yen, lipstick, kleenex, bus pass, house keys and a pen.

"Phew". It had been a long day, and even the normally indomitable Sango Shizuka was feeling the effects. Reaching into her purse she fished around for her keys in a daze, eventually slotting them
into the deadbolt and turning the lock aside. Even before she turned the knob, she knew what would be waiting for her. An empty house, the lights off and the blinds drawn. Pushing the door aside she stepped
in and closed it behind her, leaning against the jamb for a moment to collect herself.
"Welcome home, Shizuka-sama." Well, not entirely empty.
Electrocuted Lynx, her entrails animal doll-turned spirit guide, was seated on the lip of the front room, waiting loyally for her to return home, as usual.
"Good evening." She replied, slipping out of her shoes and into the slippers warming by the register. It wasn't cold yet, but heated slippers were one of lifes little luxuries.
"You look sleepy." Lynx observed, cocking her stuffed head to one side.
"Not time for bed yet." Came the non-commital reply as Shizuka stepped inside the house proper and flicked the lights.
Purse still slung over her shoulder she trudged upstairs to her room, looking forward to a chance to change out of her school uniform and into something a little more comfortable. She opened the door
and stepped inside, closing it before Lynx could follow her in. Despite months of companionship, she was still unwilling to share much of her life with the small doll. For all she knew, the creature was
still a tool of the Moderators.
The cold closed in around her and she shivered involuntarily, looking up to see if the window had been left open.
Instead, she was greeted with the sight of a grand parlor, the grandeur somewhat dimmed by the layer of dust over everything in sight.
"What..." She breathed out, turning back the way she'd come, only to see a heavy door barring her progress.
This was not her room.
And the door, when tested, was clearly locked. She tested her shoulder against it, pressing slightly to see if there were any give to be found at all. There wasn't.
"Of course not." She sighed, turning to take in her surroundings once more. "Now where am I?"
